2020 Mahindra Thar To Be Available In Three Variants

Mahindra recently unveiled the much-awaited 2020 Thar in India, at the time of this article Mahindra has not revealed the price tag the next-gen Thar will bear but the company has noted that the new Mahindra Thar 2020 will come in two series- AX and LX that are essentially off-roader & lifestyle focused versions respectively. Mahindra will be offering two variants of the AX series namely the- AX AC, AX OPT, and one variant of the LX series named just the LX making a total of three variants.The 2020 Thar AX series will be offered with a choice between a 152hp/320Nm, 2.0-litre mStallion petrol and a 132hp/300Nm, 2.2-liter mHawk diesel powertrain paired to a manual gearbox set-up. The 2020 Thar LX series, on the other hand, will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options, however, only the diesel unit will receive both manual and automatic gearbox while the petrol engine will come mated to only an automatic unit. The new Mahindra Thar will launch on October 2. It will face competition from the new Force Gurkha, and the Suzuki Jimny which is also expected to arrive in India in the coming months.
