Honda-Hornet-2.0-200cc-India-Price-Specs-Features-Image8
To celebrate its twenty years of presence in the Indian market, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has launched the Hornet 2.0 – a naked streetfighter to rival the likes of
TVS Apache RTR 200
and Bajaj Pulsar NS200. Although the bike is based on an all-new platform, it wouldn’t be incorrect to say the Hornet 2.0 is an updated version of the older Hornet. Nevertheless, with the Hornet 2.0, Honda Motorcycles India has finally entered the 200cc club.
Although the Honda Hornet 2.0 arrives pretty late to the party, the naked streetfighter is backed by a host of premium features like the first-in-segment USD forks and an all-digital blue backlit instrument console with five-level brightness. The Hornet 2.0 gets an all-LED lighting system that comprises an angular LED headlamp, LED tail lamp, and LED indicators. The bike also gets a muscular 12 litre fuel tank with sharp extensions, a step-up seat, dual-petal disc brakes on both ends, a single-channel ABS system, and a compact muffler to match its athletic appearance.
Other notable features include the rear mono-shock, engine stop switch and hazard switch, keyhole on the fuel tank, battery voltmeter, wider tubeless tyres at the front (110mm) and rear (140mm), alloy footpegs, new alloy wheel design, and sporty decals.
The Honda Hornet 2.0 gets a 184 cc single-cylinder air-cooled unit that delivers 17 bhp @ 8500 rpm and a best-in-class 16.1 Nm of peak torque @ 6000 rpm. The transmission option includes a 5-speed unit. The bike is claimed to cross 200 meters mark in just over 11 seconds. Honda says the Hornet 2.0 has a class-leading mid-range torque and performance.
Priced at INR 1.26 Lakhs (ex-showroom), the Hornet 2.0 will be available in four color options - Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, and Matte Sangria Red Metallic.Honda will also be offering a 6-year warranty package (3 years standard plus 3 years optional extended warranty) on the Hornet 2.0.
