Honda H'ness CB350: 5 Things To Know Before Buying!

The Honda H'ness CB350 is the newest entrant in the Nepalese market. The retro-inspired H'ness CB350 goes against the likes of Royal Enfield and Jawa motorcycles. Although the H'ness CB350 is available in two variants (DLX and DLX Pro) in the Indian market, the company has decided to bring in the first variant only, at present. Here are 5 things you should keep in mind about the H'ness CB350.
(1) Design and styling
The H'ness CB350 has the look of a 70s race bike with cafe racer-inspired styling. The silhouette remains more or less the same as the CB750 and others. It gets a neo-classical LED headlight surrounded by retro-styled turn signal on either side, a curvaceous 15-litre fuel tank, single-piece handlebar for an upright riding position, contoured single-seat for long saddle hours, alloy wheels, and a generous amount of chrome on the fenders, exhaust, mirrors, and the engine.
The DLX variant will be available in three single-tone colours - Precious Red Metallic, Matte Marshal Green Metallic, and Pearl Night Star Black. The dual-tone colours are only available on the DLX Pro variant.
(2) Engine
The Honda H'ness CB350 is powered by a new BS6-compliant 348.3cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This motor churns out 20.8 BHPat 5500 RPM and 30 Nm of peak torque at 3000 RPM. This long-stroke engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine comes with balancer shafts to eliminate primary and secondary vibrations. The Honda H'ness gets a similar thumpy exhaust note like the RE Classic 350, courtesy of a single-chamber structure in the exhaust's expansion chamber and a large 45mm tailpipe.
(3) Platform
The bike sits on a half-duplex frame, made out of steel (a brand-new platform designed for the Indian market), and gets telescopic forks at the front and twin hydraulic suspension at the rear for relaxed handling. Braking duties are provided by disc brakes (310mm disc in the front and 240mm rear disc) with dual-channel ABS. The alloy wheels are shod with 100/90-19 front and a 130/70-18 rear MRF tyre.
In terms of dimensions, the H'ness CB 350 is 2,163mm long, 800mm wide, and 1,107mm tall. The wheelbase measures 1,441mm while the ground clearance is 166mm, which is the best in class. At 181 kg (kerb), the motorcycle is relatively light too.
(4) Segment first features
The Honda H'ness CB350 comes loaded with many features when compared to its rivals. You get a semi-digital info cluster with Bluetooth connectivity for call/music and navigation, and a semi-digital info cluster that displays a gear position indicator, Bluetooth indicator, fuel gauge, two trip meters, and other tell-tale diagnostics like battery health monitor, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) that helps in maintaining the rear-wheel traction, dual-channel ABS, side stand indicator and ECO indicator.
However, the DLX variant gets HSTC, full LED headlamp and taillamp, assist and slipper clutch, a multi-functional instrument cluster and engine start/stop switch, etc. It misses out on the Honda Smartphone Voice Control system (HSVCS) provided on the DLX Pro variant.
(5) Pricing
As of now, only the DLX variant of the Honda H'ness CB350 is launched in the Nepalese market. The H'ness CB350 DLX is priced at Rs 7.50 Lakh in the Nepalese market. It is available at an introductory Rs 6.99 Lakh for a limited time period. Easy financing option is also available through Syakar Finance.
