Africa-Twin Inspired Honda CRF190L Debuts In China

September 14, 2021
Honda has unveiled a new small-capacity adventure bike in the Chinese market. Dubbed as the CRF190L, the entry-level off-road capable adventure bike gets an Africa Twin inspired styling with CRF's rugged credentials. As reported by media, the CRF190L is made by a Honda-China joint venture project, Honda Sundiro and is based on the Honda XR190L, an adventure-touring/enduro motorcycle popular in our market too.The CRF190L gets a muscular fuel tank with extensions, a stepped-up single-piece seat with a pillion grab rail, high-set handlebars, round mirrors, and a raised windscreen. The bike also packs in a digital instrument console and a full-LED lighting setup. As seen from the images, the Honda CRF190L gets a long-travel suspension, wire-spoke wheels, and dual-purpose tires. The adv bike is likely to be powered by a 184cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected motor from the current XR190L producing 15.6 hp and 15.7 Nm. The exact specifications of the bike, including the power figures, and dimensions, etc. are yet to be revealed. However, the bike is reported to get a massive ground clearance of 241mm, a seat height of 830mm which makes it 25mm lower than the KTM 390 Adventure and just 7mm taller than the Hero XPulse 200, and a long-travel suspension of 180mm. It will ride on wire-spoked wheels wrapped in dual-purpose tires. At 145kg wet, the bike is pretty much light too. Although the 2021 Honda CRF190L is targeted for the Chinese market only, we really hope it reaches our shores too, just like the XR190L.
