All-New Maruti Suzuki Celerio Bookings Open In India

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced the commencement of bookings for its All-New Celerio in the Indian market. The upcoming Celerio will boast a fresh new design language, a completely revamped interior and a new engine.The new Celerio will be longer, wider and taller than the current-gen Celerio. It will also have a longer wheelbase. The new Celerio will be underpinned by Suzuki’s Heartect platform that also underpins the current WagonR. The new Celerio gets a rounded design language highlighted by rounded headlamps, a larger glasshouse and a tapering roofline. The front fascia sports an all-new radiant grill with sharp chrome accents combined with a new headlamp that gives it a signature look.Inside, it gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Maruti’s SmartPlay Studio, newly designed AC vents, and a spacious cabin. The new Celerio will also get segment-first comfort and convenience features, says the company.The new Celerio will be powered by Maruti's K10C engine with DualJet technology for more precise control and better fuel efficiency. The same engine with a turbocharger was available on the Baleno RS, now discontinued in India. The motor will come mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic gearbox. According to Maruti Suzuki, the new Celerio will be the most fuel-efficient hatchback in the segment giving around 26 kpl.

The upcoming Celerio will rival the likes of the Tata Tiago, the Datsun GO, and Hyundai Santro.
