BSA Gold Star 650 Motorcycle Specifications Revealed

BSA Motorcycles, which unveiled its first modern motorcycle, the Gold Star 650 to the public at the 2021 Motorcycle Live Show in the UK, has now revealed all the technical details of this upcoming retro motorcycle.Powering the Gold Star 650 will be an all-new, 652 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-valve motor that will churn out a peak power of 45 hp and a torque output of 55 Nm. The torque starts building up from as low as 1800 RPM, claims the brand. The engine comes mated to a five-speed gearbox, and a slipper & assist clutch is available as standard here.The bike is also expected to get a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres, thus making it touring-friendly. BSA claims the Gold Star returns a mileage of about 30kmpl, which is very impressive for such a large capacity single-cylinder motorcycle. And, the service interval stands at almost 10,000km.Staying true to its classic heritage, the BSA Gold Star 650 is quite a looker with its beautiful retro-inspired design. The new Gold Star 650 gets a round halogen headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a single-piece seat, wire-spoke wheels, and round rear-view mirrors, etc. It gets analogue dials for the twin-pod instrument cluster with LCD multi-functional display. The Gold Star 650 also gets a 12V USB charging port on the handlebar.The Gold Star 650 sits on a tubular dual-cradle steel frame. Suspension duties are handled by conventional 41mm telescopic front forks and preload-adjustable twin rear shockers. Seat height stands at 780mm. The front wheel is an 18-inch unit, while the rear is a 17-inch unit. At 213 kg (wet weight), the Gold Star 650 isn't a particularly light bike. Similarly, the bike will get dual disc brakes with Brembo callipers at both ends. A dual-channel ABS will be standard.The BSA Gold Star is designed and engineered in the UK but is manufactured in India. The motorcycle will directly go up against the Royal Enfield 650 twins in India.
