Kia India has released the official design sketches of the Carens MPV which will make its debut on 16th December. The new images show the exterior and interior details as it does appear to have a striking styling theme. The car’s design is based on the ‘Bold for Nature’ theme, one of the pillars of the brand’s latest design philosophy. Upfront, the Carens features a flat bonnet design, with an upright Tiger nose and a chunky front bumper that gets a strong separator line between the top and the air intake at the bottom. The front fascia of the Kia Carens leans forward comprising a clamshell-shaped bonnet with Kia’s new corporate logo, sharp-looking LED headlamps with stylish LED Daytime Running Lights on top and an additional horizontal LED strip between the DRLs and headlamps. The Kia Carens design team has pretty much applied the profile of the Seltos onto the MPV. The 2 prominent creases run from the front and rear fenders to the doors. The Carens will come with stylish alloy wheels and roof rails, which should be functional. Over on the back, the Carens gets wraparound LED tail lamps that extend inwards into the upright tailgate and are connected by an LED strip, integrated spoiler with high mounted stop lamp, metallic accents on the rear bumper giving a faux intake look.Kia has also released the interior design sketch of the Carens. The vehicle, the brand says, will come with an elegant and premium cabin. The sketches show that the Carens will have a large dashboard that extends a bit further towards the front windshield. Kia has confirmed that the model will get a 10.25-inch infotainment screen. The instrument cluster will be fully digital and the steering wheel is similar to the one seen on the Seltos and the Sonet, with multifunction buttons for audio controls, voice commands, among others. The Kia Carens is expected to be powered by the brand’s 1.5-liter petrol and diesel engines.  The Carens will rival Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, Mahindra Marazzo and Maruti Suzuki XL6 amongst others.
