Upcoming Cars In Nepal 2022: Tata Tigor EV

Tata Motors Nepal is readying the launch of Tata Tigor EV in the Nepalese market. The new Tata Tigor EV will sit alongside the Nexon EV in the company's EV lineup. In the Indian market,Tata Motors is offering the new Tigor EV in three variants: XE, XM, XZ+ (XZ+ Dual Tone option available), which come with an 8 year and 160,000 KM battery and motor warranty for the EV owners.Tata Tigor EV: DesignWhile it looks very similar to the ICE version, there are a few key differences. The most notable difference is a new glossy black panel in place of the traditional grille, with an electric blue accent underlining the entire setup. The Tigor EV also gets blue highlights inside the headlamps and on the 15-inch alloy wheels, which also feature a new design. It additionally gets projector headlamps along with revised fog lamp housing with LED DRLs integrated on the front bumper.Tata Tigor EV: FeaturesThe interior design looks very similar to the standard Tigor.However, to differentiate the Tigor EV from its ICE-based sibling, it carries over the blue accents on the inside as well.In terms of features, the Tigor EV gets a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 4 speakers and 4 tweeters, iRA connected car tech, multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control, digital instrument cluster, and much more.Tata Tigor EV: Powertrain and RangeThe Tigor EV gets Tata’s Ziptron high-voltage architecture that uses a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor producing 75hp and 170Nm. These output figures allow for a 0 to 60kph time of 5.7 seconds (claimed). The Tigor EV’s battery pack is a 26kWh Lithium-ion unit, which along with the electric motor has been rated to IP67 water and dust-proofing standards.The Tigor EV is capable of fast charging and can be topped up from 0 to 80 percent in just 65 minutes. The electric sedan can also be charged with a 15 amp plug point.When charged in this way, it can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 8 hours and 45 minutes.The Tigor EV has a claimed ARAI-certified range of 306km (under standard testing conditions).Tata Tigor EV: SafetyInterestingly, the Tata Tigor EV, which is the first EV to be tested by Global NCAP, has achieved a 4-star crash rating for both adult (12.00 points out of 17.00) and child (37.24 points out of 49.00) occupant protection. In terms of safety features, the Tigor EV gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, seat belt reminder, and more.Tata Tigor EV: RivalsThe Tigor EV currently does not have any direct rivals.Tata Tigor EV: Expected PriceThe Tata Tigor EV is expected to priced around Rs 30 Lakh to Rs 34 Lakh in the Nepalese market.Tata Motors Nepal is assertive that the all-new Tigor EV will be well-received by the Nepalese buyers just like its ICE-based sibling - the Tigor sedan, claimed to be one of the best selling sedans in the Nepali market.
