Petrol, Diesel Price Hiked Again; Prices Increased By Rs 3 Per Litre in 12 Days

Fuel prices in the country continue to rise. Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has hiked the price of petroleum products again.The NOC has increased the price of petrol, diesel and kerosene by Rs 3 per liter within a span of twelve days.After the price hike, petrol will cost Rs 142 per liter while the prices of diesel and kerosene will cost Rs 125 per liter.Similarly, the NOC has also hiked the prices of aviation fuel by Rs 10 per liter for domestic carriers and USD 100 per 1000 liters for international airlines. However, the price of cooking gas remains unchanged.Issuing a press release on February 1st, the NOC said that this revision is a result of an increase in the international benchmark Brent crude which is currently trading between USD 80-USD 90 per barrel. Even after today's price adjustment, there will still be a loss of around Rs 2.23 billion in the next 15 days, the corporation says.
