Petrol, Diesel Prices Hit Record High; Prices Increased By Rs 5 Per Litre

The state-owned Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has hiked the price of petrol, diesel, and kerosene by Rs 5 per litre. These prices will be in effect from 12 am Thursday, March 17, 2022.After the price hike, petrol will cost Rs 155 per litre while the prices of diesel and kerosene will cost Rs 138 per litre. However, the price of cooking gas remains unchanged.According to NOC, even though the price has gone up by Rs 5 per litre, there is still a loss of Rs 28.57 per litre in petrol. Similarly, diesel has a loss of Rs 32.15 while kerosene has a profit of Rs 24.34 per litre respectively.The cost of fuel has skyrocketed with the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene reaching record-high levels. And, with rising geopolitical tensions, there seems no respite in sight.
