Tata Motors India has unveiled its all-new Ace EV, the pure electric version of its popular commercial vehicle. The Ace was first launched in 2005 and 17 years later now, the vehicle has been electrified. Tata Ace is India’s most successful commercial vehicle ever, currently holding a 70 percent market share.
Powered by Tata’s new EVOGEN powertrain, the Ace EV has a certified range of up to 154 km with 22 percent full-load gradeability. The Ace EV puts out 36 HP and 130 NM. The Ace EV’s maximum cargo volume is 208 feet cube.
The new Ace EV is 3,800mm long, 1,500mm wide and 2,635mm tall. The wheelbase of the Ace EV is 2,100mm long and the turning radius is 4.3m. The Ace EV weighs 1,840 kgs and has a payload capacity of 600 kgs. Similarly, the Ace EV’s container is made of lightweight material for e-commerce logistics.
Similarly, Tata Motors has already signed a memorandum of understanding with leading e-commerce companies and logistics service providers like Amazon, BigBasket, City Link, DOT, Flipkart, LetsTransport, MoEVing, and Yelo EV to deliver 39,000 units of the Ace EV and to set up dedicated ‘Electric Vehicle Support Centres’ for maximum fleet uptime; deployment of Tata Fleet Edge optimal fleet management solution; and support of Tata UniEVerse, the eco-system of relevant Tata Group companies.
