Changan Ranks High Among China's Best-Selling Car Brands

Changan International Corporation (CIC), is counted among China’s Top 4 homegrown auto manufacturers, and one of the world’s top 15 automakers with cumulative sales of 2.3 million units or 15 percent growth in 2021.Between January and February 2022, the brand sold around 220,000 of the 1.6 million units sold in China alone. While in terms of overall domestic sales, Changan placed second in the roster of top China auto groups, cornering 330,000 of the 2.2 million units sold in that same period.Similarly, the 2021 JD Power China New-Vehicle Initial Quality Study (IQS) ranked Changan number one in new vehicle quality among all other Chinese brands, and number seven among mainstream joint venture global brands, including the luxury brands that are currently sold in China. It is believed that achievements in sales reflect growing customer satisfaction with the brand. This is the second time Changan topped the JD Power China IQS; the first was in 2018.

Changan is also a pioneer in the mass production of electric vehicles in China.

In Nepal, the brand was launched by MAW Vriddhi Autocorp in 2021 with the Alsvin sedan. The Alsvin has since been followed by the Hunter lifestyle pickup truck. The Alsvin is equipped with a 1.4-litre petrol engine that delivers 99 bhp and 135 Nm of torque while the Hunter is powered a 1.9-litre turbo diesel engine that produces 150 hp and 350 Nm of torque.

By the end of 2022, Changan Auto will boast a portfolio of premium vehicles for five different segments in the Nepalese market.
