2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 Launched In India

Maruti Suzuki has launched the all-new Alto K10 in the Indian market at a starting price of INR 3.99 lakh. The K10 nameplate has returned after more than two years since the previous generation was discontinued due to the BS6 emission norms. The 2022 Alto K10 gets a completely new exterior and interior styling and a host of new features.Design and FeaturesThe new Alto K10 features wide sweptback headlamps and a large hexagonal-patterned grille at the front.  From the side, the new Alto K10 sports a prominent shoulder line that makes it look proportionate. You also get ORVMs finished in dual-tone colours and low-cost flap handles. At the rear, the new Alto K10 gets large c-shaped creases on the bumper and a roof spoiler. It gets 13-inch steel wheels with plastic wheel covers.The 2022 Alto K10 is based on the company's new Heartect modular platform which also underpins the new Celerio and Ertiga. It measures 3530mm in length, 1490mm in width, and 1520mm in height. Similarly, it has a wheelbase of 2380mm. When compared to the Alto 800, the new Alto K10 is around 85mm longer, 45mm taller, and has a 20mm longer wheelbaseOn the inside, the new Alto K10 gets an upright dashboard design with a big touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital speedometer. It also gets steering-mounted audio and Bluetooth controls and a digital instrument cluster without a tachometer. A new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto takes the centre stage of the dashboard. In addition, the new Alto K10 offers features such as UBS ports, 4 speakers, and central locking with a remote key.EnginePowering the new Alto K10 is a 1.0-litre K10C 998cc petrol engine that churns out 69 hp and 89 Nm of torque, the same as the new Celerio and the S-Presso. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox with start/stop technology. The new Alto K10 delivers 24.90 km/l in the AMT and 24.39 km/l in the manual guise, as per Maruti Suzuki.SafetySafety features will include dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, speed sensing auto door lock and ABS with EBD, as standard.VariantsThe Alto K10 is available in a total of 12 variants with eight manual and four automatic. The 4 variants include STD, LXI, VXI, and VXI+. The Alto K10 will be offered in 6 colours including the new Sizzling Red, Speedy Blue and Earth Gold.
