Kathmandu Gets New Speed Limits: 50 km/hr On Highways, 20 km/hr On Service Tracks

In view of the speed control provisions mentioned in the Vehicle and Traffic Management Act 2049 and Regulation 2054, the speed limit for all vehicle categories on the outer ring road of Kathmandu Valley has been revised in view of traffic scenario and road safety.

As per the latest notification from the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division, a speed limit of 50 kmph on the Fast Track and 20 kmph on the Service Track has been set in Kathmandu Valley.  Similarly, a speed limit of 50 kmph has been fixed on the Koteshwar-Bhaktapur road section.

Also, it has been mentioned that speed limit boards have been placed at some places to set the speed limit as per the scenario.
