Maruti Suzuki Jimny SUV Launched In India

Maruti Suzuki has launched the Jimny SUV in India, with prices starting from INR 12.74 Lakh for the entry-level Zeta trim and going up to INR 15.05 Lakh for the top-spec Alpha trim (both prices ex-showroom, India). The Jimny will be available in six trims, in both manual and automatic gearbox options. India is the first country to get the five-door version of the Jimny.The 5-door Jimny gets Maruti Suzuki's K15B engine, which is coupled to either a 4-speed torque converter automatic or a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine delivers 105hp and 134Nm of peak torque. It also receives Maruti's mild-hybrid technology. Similarly, the Jimny will offer a range of 16.94kmpl for the manual transmission model and 16.39kmpl for the automatic transmission model.The Jimny has already crossed over 30,000 bookings in India. It rivals other rugged 5-door off-roaders such as the 5-door Mahindra Thar and 5-door Force Gurkha.
