June 18, 2023
A patent image revealing the exterior design of Ola's upcoming electric car has been leaked online. The image reveals the design of what seems to be the early concept of the upcoming electric sedan which is scheduled for release in the second half of 2024.Ola's first electric car will be a four-door sedan with a coupe-like roofline, inspired by Tesla Model 3 and Model S. The electric car exudes a minimalistic design language featuring rounded and smoothened body panels, possibly for improved aerodynamic efficiency. The front fascia gets a couple of air intakes on either side. The headlamp assembly sits above the bumper and showcases sleek, horizontal lamps at either end connected by an LED light bar. From the side, a prominent air vent can be seen at the front fender and a scooped front door with flush door handles. The image also showcases a dual-tone effect on the roof.

Inside, the electric car gets an octagonal steering wheel with a two-spoke design and jet-styled backlit steering-mounted controls with an embossed 'OLA' logo in the middle. The dashboard also houses a floating infotainment screen. The cabin also gets ambient lighting. The Ola electric car will have assisted driving capabilities and keyless and handleless doors. It will use the brand’s MoveOS software.

Similarly, the electric car will house cameras in place of rearview cameras. The vehicle will also feature a first-in-segment all-glass roof and an Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS) functionality. Although there are no concrete details regarding the battery pack and powertrain, Ola says that it aims to deliver over 500 km in one full charge from its 70-80 kWh battery pack and reach 0-100 kmph in under 4 seconds.

Expected to be priced around INR 40 Lakh, the electric car will rival the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 in the Indian market.
