Jaecoo J6: Chery's Luxury Electric SUV Spotted in Nepal Ahead of NADA Auto Show 2024

The Jaecoo J6 electric SUV has been spotted in Kathmandu ahead of its official debut at the NADA Auto Show 2024. Chinese automaker Chery is bringing its new Jaecoo luxury brand to the Nepalese market, showcasing the Jaecoo J6 electric compact SUV. The Jaecoo J6 is expected to be priced between Rs 65 Lakh and Rs 70 Lakh.

The J6 will be available with a single-motor powertrain producing 135 kW. It is equipped with CATL's 65 kWh LFP battery, providing an electric driving range of up to 426 km according to NEDC standards. The rear-mounted electric motor delivers 135 kW of power and 220 Nm of torque, allowing the J6 to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 10.5 seconds, with a top speed of 150 km/h.

The Jaecoo J6 is a rebadged version of the Chery iCar 03 that debuted in China last year. The J6 measures 4406mm in length, 1910mm in width, and 1715mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2715mm. It offers a ground clearance of 195mm unladen and 170mm laden, and has a minimum turning radius of 5.7m.

The Jaecoo J6 boasts a bold and wide stance reminiscent of the current Land Rover Defender, featuring a boxy design, chunky wheel arch extensions, an upright wrap-around glasshouse, a black roof, and a sideways-opening tailgate. It also sports boomerang-shaped LED headlights and vertically aligned LED taillights, along with electric pop-out door handles for a futuristic touch.

Inside, the Jaecoo J6 offers a stylish and luxurious interior, including a 9.2-inch digital instrument display and a large 15.6-inch horizontal touchscreen infotainment system. It also comes with a 50-watt Qi wireless charger and a panoramic glass roof. The second row features a completely flat floor, providing additional comfort for rear passengers.

For safety, the Jaecoo J6 is equipped with various active and passive features, including six airbags, TPMS, ABS with EBD, and select ADAS features.
