BYD has unveiled the 2025 Seal electric sedan in China. The new 2025 model showcases advanced SiC (Silicon Carbide) technology and is the first BYD sedan to feature a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, enhancing its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Customers can choose between two battery options: 61.44 kWh and 80.64 kWh, offering a CLTC range of 510 km to 650 km. The standard model features a 170 kW (228 hp) rear motor, while higher trims offer a 230 kW (308 hp) variant and a top trim with 390 kW (523 hp) and all-wheel drive.
The design of the 2025 Seal remains largely similar to the current model but with notable updates in the interior. It includes a new four-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and BYD’s signature rotating large central floating control screen. The minimalist interior features a center console with physical buttons, concealed air-conditioning vents, and wireless charging pads.
The 2025 Seal is equipped with BYD’s Disus-System, which enhances the suspension’s adaptability, stability, comfort, and handling. The four-wheel-drive version also benefits from this advanced damping control system. The vehicle’s dimensions remain the same as the current model: 4800 mm in length, 1875 mm in width, 1460 mm in height, and a 2920 mm wheelbase.
Regarding safety, the 2025 Seal now includes a LiDAR sensor, significantly improving its ADAS capabilities. It integrates with the L2+ level DiPilot 300 system, offering features such as high-speed and urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) and Automated Valet Parking (AVP). All models come standard with 13 airbags and a W-HUD head-up display.
