Bookings for the Yamaha MT-15 V2 have started in Nepal. Priced at Rs 5.49 lakh, the new model is Rs 25,000 more expensive than the current version.

The MT-15 V2 comes with several new features, the most notable being a 37mm USD fork, the same one found on the Yamaha R15 V4. It also includes a cast aluminum swingarm borrowed from the R15 and a revamped digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity for calls, SMS, and email alerts. The bike also introduces two new colors: Cyan Storm and Racing Blue.

Styling-wise, the MT-15 V2 retains its previous design, including a projector-style headlight with twin DRLs, a muscular fuel tank, a step-up seat, an engine cowl, a side-slung exhaust, and 17-inch wheels front and rear. The deltabox frame, monoshock suspension, and braking components remain unchanged.

It continues to be powered by the same 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, delivering 18.4PS at 10,000rpm and 14.1Nm at 7,500rpm. Although power has decreased slightly by 0.1PS, torque has increased by 0.2Nm. This slight drop may boost fuel efficiency, while the extra torque is expected to enhance low-end performance. Similarly, the 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch remains the same.

The new MT-15 V2 still features only a single-channel ABS, missing the dual-channel ABS available on the R15.
